An article published in a Quebec newspaper referred to notice of intent published on February 3, 2016, stating that the Quebec Ministry of Health intends to select Logibec as a partner in its mission to implement patient-based funding. This text calls for certain reminders.
When MédiaMed was founded 15 years ago, activity-based funding was already an avenue being considered in many jurisdictions around the world. It is within this context that our software was created and developed in conjunction with the healthcare system. All administrations that have since governed in Quebec, regardless of party colours, have been interested in these solutions.
We are the only company that has progressively developed the expertise to meet the realities of the healthcare system. It is therefore not surprising that the characteristics and functionalities of our software are now used as a reference. Furthermore, Dr Jean Mireault, Quebec Emeritus Physician, has been asked to participate in many projects and at conferences on healthcare management, including those focused on patient-based funding, in the province of Quebec and abroad.
Given this background the Quebec Ministry of Health is considering awarding a contract to Logibec to implement a solution for the monitoring of costs by care and services trajectory in the Quebec healthcare system. It is important to note that the notice of intent indicated that a four-week period was granted to other vendors, providing them with an opportunity to present their expertise in this field.
Logibec has unique expertise in healthcare which has been recognized and quoted in several publications on the management of health services well beyond our borders. We can be proud of having the solutions and expertise required to enable the Ministry of Health to successfully complete the transformation of this key sector in the province of Quebec.
